Tammy Mitchell Hines, Integrity and A Smile Scholarship Fund

This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior of Columbia, Waterloo, Valmeyer or Gibault High Schools enrolling in a college or university of his/her choice for use towards tuition and/or books for the 2012/2013 School Year.
The following criteria will be used to select 5 finalists:
1) Student of Columbia, Waterloo, Valmeyer or Gibault High School 2) 2011 High School Graduate 3) Grade point average B or higher 4) Involvement in extra curricular activities in community and school 5) 3 letters of recommendation (from teachers, counselors, employers or other community leaders, ie. non-family members) 6) Essay - minimum 1,000 words, maximum 1,500 words The following will be used to select 1 final recipient from the 5 finalists. A 5-10 minute interview conducted by 4 local business people. Candidates for this award must: 1) Complete the enclosed application. Please type or print neatly. 2) Write an essay entitled "Integrity and A Smile." This essay is to be typed and should be a biographical statement giving educational background, career goals and include reasons the candidate should be awarded the scholarship and what "Integrity" means to you. Minimum, 1,000 words, maximum 1,500 words. 3) Provide an official seventh semester high school transcript (they can be copies). 4) Submit the original and 4 copies (stapled or paperclipped together) of the above material to Tammy Mitchell Hines by April 4, 2011 A committee of local business people will review the applications and select 5 finalists. The finalists will be notified of the time and place for the oral presentation. One recipient will be chosen. A certificate will be presented by Tammy Mitchell Hines at Awards Night or Graduation to the recipient. The actual award will be sent to the college/university upon verification of the recipient enrollment.
